The "People of the Sea" is the collective name of various tribes and peoples, mostly from Asia Minor, who in the midst of the Bronze Age apocalypse sought a better life in Egypt and did not succeed. The Egyptians gave them the name that has stuck in modern history. What tribes were among the "People of the Sea"? It is believed that they were the Sherdans, Tirsenes, Tursha, Philistines and Chakkal, Danuns, Phrygians, Shakalesha, Achiava, Haramants, Bows, Tevkras. For the most part they had previously lived in western and southwestern Asia Minor. But their geography was much wider. Before Egypt they had devastated the territories of the Hittite kingdom, Cyprus, and Ugarit. After their defeat in Egypt, they dispersed, including the area of Gaza. That's where they went back into history under the name of the Philistines. It sounds familiar, doesn't it? It is believed that other tribes then became Etruscans in Italy, Siculians in Sicily, and so on
